Hell NO! Hahahaha!!! Of course, you can! It’s easy to make songs using loops with your favorite loopingsoftware. There are many ways to start, but here is one example of how it can be done:
1. Choose a drum sample from your loop library and decide how fast or slow you want it to be (tempo).
2. Select the appropriate tempo in your software program, set in beats per minute (bpm). For example: a typical hip hop tempo is 95bpm. A dance tempo is 120bpm or faster.
3. Listen to different instrument loops in your sample library to determine of any of them fit the drum pattern you have chosen. You can use bass guitar, piano, or whatever sounds good to you. This might take some time if you have a big stash of sounds, but it’s the only way to find out what sounds best for the song.
4. Select the instrument loops you like and paste them into your program’s tracks. You can arrange them in whatever order you want - take some out after a few bars and add them in later to different parts of the song to keep it interesting.
Pretty simple, right? OK...so we didn’t cover the details of exactly how your software works, but they’re all pretty much the same. Drag and drop is the most common way to paste your loops into the tracks. Don’t worry, you’ll become a pro in no time. Just take the time to learn the software you have chosen to use. Once you do, there’s nothing to stop you from creating your own music and becoming a producer of hip hop, R&B, pop, dance or other music!
